It’s time to settle in and set your sights on a two-day craft adventure in the Canadian Badlands! The tour departs from the convenience of your chosen Calgary location.
As the tour nears the city of Brooks, keep an eye out for irrigation pivots in the passing fields. They are the inspiration for the newest craft distillery, PIVOT SPIRITS, just south of the city in Rolling Hills. An authentic grain-to-glass story unfolds as you tour the facility and learn how a variety of grains are grown nearby and then transformed to become a collection of signature spirits. Discover how local livestock are fed the mash from the distilling process - and don’t worry, there will be time to ‘irrigate’ yourself with a hearty lunch and a sampling back in the tasting room.
Onward to Medicine Hat, watch for Pronghorn, a unique type of antelope indigenous to this area of the province. Upon arrival, a special evening begins with a stop at HELL’S BASEMENT BREWERY for an insightful tour and tasting. Don’t forget to inquire how the city’s history inspired the brewery’s name! Afterwards, unwind at MEDICINE HAT BREWING COMPANY where the chef will prepare a seasonal dish featuring locally sourced ingredients accompanied with a side of featured suds. An evening in Canada’s Sunniest City ends at TRAVOIS ALEWORKS, located in a restored century old building in the heart of Historic Downtown Medicine Hat. And then it’s off to overnight at the comfy Medicine Hat Lodge Resort Casino & Spa, where you may just be inspired to have one last nightcap on your own.
Day two begins with brunch and inspired cocktail flight of either in-house crafted gin or vodka at GRIT CITY DISTILLERY. The return to Calgary features stops at a grassroots brewery with a great story to tell. Enjoy a casual late lunch and final flight at PISTON BROKE BREWING to round out your ‘crafternoon’ before the final leg of the journey back to Calgary aboard Prairie Sprinter.

Private bookings may be requested between May and end of September. All bookings are upon request and will be subject to availability.
Tours may be booked for Thursday-Friday or Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday. Itinerary may vary slightly based on requested tour days to accommodate operating hours of some establishments.
Group size: maximum of 20, minimum of 12 can be accommodated.
Minimum 45 notice is required for all booking requests. Looking for an tour sooner than 45 days? We may be able to accommodate - please reach out to chat.
Tour includes pick up from ONE Calgary location and final return to ONE Calgary location.
Please note that group size and experience availability will be determined by current Covid-19 health measures in place at the time of tour departure.
